The Cowboy Channel – How to Watch

The Cowboy Channel (TCC) is the most popular western cowboy channel. It covers various western sports genres, including ProRodeo, bull riding, roping, reining, barrel racing, and western fashion and music. Also included in the line-up is “live” coverage of major western events featuring some of the toughest and most talented cowboys and cowgirls in the world.

The Cowboy Channel offers western and rodeo sports on its cable and satellite channels to more than 42 million cable and satellite subscribers. Its owned by Patrick Gottsch under the brand name Rural Media Group, which also runs its sister channel, RFD-TV.

It is a subscription-based service, and you can use it to watch sports events such as the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) by purchasing the NFR Streaming Pass. You can watch live events, videos on demand, original shows, and much more on this channel. The Cowboy Channel live streaming is now available on Dish Network Channel 232 and Direct TV Channel 603.

History

Originally known as the National Christian Network, it was launched in 1979. Eventually, it became Rural TV from 1988 through 2009, and then FamilyNet between 2009 and 2017). From 2017 to the present, it has been referred to as the Cowboy Channel. It now televises western and rodeo sporting events on cable television in the United States.

The Cowboy Channel

Previously known as FamilyNet, the Cowboy Channel was rebranded on 1st July 2017. Historically, RFD-TV has covered a lot of country sports and rodeo events, which is why Patrick Gottsch (who also owns RFD-TV) rebranded it as the Cowboy Channel. After that, it became an American cable or satellite television channel broadcasting western and rodeo sports. Much of the channel’s programming is focused on cowboy culture.

The Professional Bull Riders, the Calgary Stampede, and RFD’s American Rodeo were broadcast first. From 2020, the Cowboy Channel started broadcasting major events like the PRCA’s National Finals Rodeo.

Tom Seay and Del Shields host this weekly show as they share their travels to scenic locations, show off-trail riding locations, and meet interesting people along the way. They also showcase quality equine-related products.

Cinch High School Rodeo Tour

Launched in 1961, its first purpose was to provide training and create venues for rodeo performances among high school students. As a result, it encourages high school students to participate in rodeo sports. It is commonly known as the NHSRA, which stands for the National High School Rodeo Association, a federation that operates mostly in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Cowboy Country TV

Cowboy pioneers, delicious dishes, and unique locations related to the cowboy lifestyle are all featured in this program. The show often covers diverse topics such as horseback riding and artwork as part of the celebration of the western lifestyle. With Cowboy Country, you will read about classic profiles, Trailblazers, and Living Legends, highlighting America’s century and heritage ranches.

PRCA Rodeo

It’s the world’s largest rodeo organization, abbreviated as PRCA that stands for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. This group primarily sanctions rodeo events in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. It is best known for organizing the annual NFR in the first week of December every year at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The Cowboy Channel (Canadian TV channel):

It was founded in February 2020 by Ryan Kohler through Wild TV Inc. In addition to western sports, the channel broadcasts programs related to western fashion, western music, and movies. The Cowboy Channel Canada mainly shows bull riding, reining, team roping, and barrel racing videos.
