The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo brings ten nights of championship competition to Las Vegas from December 3–12, 2026. If you are working out how to watch NFR this year, start with two options: Cowboy Channel through a television subscription, or Cowboy Plus, branded Cowboy+, through an eligible streaming subscription. Full live coverage is paid programming.
You do not need an arena ticket to follow the competition from home. You do need the right viewing package. This guide explains the dates, start times, channels, streaming setup and Las Vegas alternatives, so you can make that choice before the first round instead of sorting out a subscription while the rodeo is starting.

The performance time is the scheduled arena start, not a guarantee that a broadcaster’s preshow begins then. Check your program guide for the full television window. The organizer’s official performance listings are the reference for dates and arena times; our NFR schedule brings the ten nights together.
Choose your viewing route according to what you already pay for and where you want to watch. If Cowboy Channel is included in your home television package, checking that access first may save you buying a second service. If you prefer a standalone internet subscription, look at Cowboy Plus and its current NFR offer.
Find Cowboy Channel in your provider’s guide, confirm that it opens with your subscription, and look up the December NFR listings. A channel appearing in the guide does not always mean it is included in your package. If it is locked, ask the provider which package or add-on carries it before making a change.
For a household watching on the same television each evening, this can be a straightforward setup: tune to the channel and keep the nightly start time handy. If you want to record a performance, check your provider’s DVR settings, storage and recording permissions. Allow extra recording time when that option is available rather than assuming every round finishes at an identical minute.
The organizer’s 2026 viewing page identifies Cowboy+ as the exclusive streaming home and points viewers to the annual plan for live coverage and on-demand replays. Use the official Cowboy Plus website to review the current offer. Do not assume a monthly subscription includes the finals.
Before paying, read the plan description for explicit NFR access, the billing period, renewal terms and any taxes. Save your receipt and note whether you subscribed on the website or through an app store. That detail matters later if you need to restore a purchase, change billing or contact the correct support team.
Check the total charge on the current checkout page, including the billing period and any renewal conditions. Read the offer carefully before confirming payment. A previous year’s promotional page can remain online even after its dates and offer have passed, so use the current subscription screen.
Cowboy Channel is the television option named in the official 2026 viewing information. The table below separates confirmed national channel numbers from providers whose local lineup needs checking. Package availability can differ between a company’s satellite, cable and internet-delivered products, so search for your exact service rather than relying only on the provider’s brand name.

Cowboy Channel is the television network. Cowboy Plus is the streaming service. Paying a television provider does not automatically establish that you also have a standalone Cowboy Plus subscription. Likewise, subscribing inside an app does not add a channel to a cable package. Check the entitlement attached to the account you intend to use.
RFD-TV and other Western-interest services should not be treated as interchangeable with the listed NFR broadcaster. This guide does not recommend buying RFD-TV, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV or another service on the assumption that rodeo-related content means the live finals are included. Start with the official NFR listing, then verify the actual package.
Each evening is a separate go-round, which makes it easy to follow a favorite event throughout the finals. You can watch one night, but the bigger championship picture develops across all ten. Keep the final Saturday available if you want to follow the closing performances and title decisions.

For the December performances, 5:45 p.m. Pacific is 6:45 p.m. Mountain, 7:45 p.m. Central and 8:45 p.m. Eastern. In the United Kingdom, that is 1:45 a.m. the following morning; in Bangladesh, it is 7:45 a.m. the following morning. These are time conversions, not statements about streaming availability in those countries.
Set your calendar using the Las Vegas time zone when possible. That helps avoid selecting the wrong date for an overnight international start. If you are traveling, check whether your phone has changed its time zone before relying on an existing reminder. The official schedule should take priority if the organizer announces an adjustment.
Pick the screen you will actually use for the full performance, then test it. A subscription that works on a phone still needs checking on the living-room device. App availability, operating-system versions and account sign-in can differ. Keep the remote, account email and password available before you begin setting up.
Cowboy Plus lists Apple, Android, Amazon Fire and Roku platforms in its viewing information. Search your device’s official app store for Cowboy Plus and check the publisher before installing. Older instructions may still use Cowboy Channel+ branding. Follow the current app’s sign-in or activation prompts rather than an old screenshot showing a different menu.
On a Roku television or player, install the official app, sign in and check that your paid access is recognized. Use the same approach on Fire TV or Apple TV. For a computer, start at the official website and sign in directly. On a phone or tablet, use the official app when available for your device. Update your browser or app before the event, and make sure the device has enough battery or stays connected to power. A long performance is an inconvenient time to discover a nearly empty battery.
If you want to cast or mirror to a television, test that exact combination beforehand; do not assume every phone, browser and TV supports the same method. A streaming player connected directly to the television may be easier to manage than a setup dependent on several devices. Choose whichever arrangement you have confirmed works reliably.
Try playback from the room where you will watch. If video stalls, pause large downloads and check whether other household devices are using the connection. A wired connection can be worth trying on compatible equipment. For Wi-Fi, moving closer to the router can help you determine whether the problem is signal strength rather than your subscription.
If the app requests payment even though you have subscribed, first check the account email and receipt. Avoid buying another plan until you know which account holds the original purchase. The Cowboy Plus support page covers billing, upgrades and purchase-recognition questions. Contact support with the device model, purchase platform and error message, without sharing your password.
International viewers need to check service access and NFR entitlement for their location before purchasing. A successful app download is not proof that every live event is available. Read the current regional terms, billing requirements and plan description. If something is unclear, ask Cowboy Plus support about the 2026 finals specifically and identify the country where you will be watching.
Replays are useful when the Las Vegas evening falls during your workday or overnight. Confirm how to find the completed performance and whether the replay is included in your plan. Publication time, playback controls and retention can change, so do not plan around an assumed permanent archive or an exact upload deadline that the service has not promised.
For a spoiler-conscious viewing routine, open the event or replay area directly and avoid news feeds until you have watched. Check that the video is the intended year and round. A highlight clip, interview or previous-season replay can have a similar title while being a different program from the full performance you wanted.
Being in Las Vegas gives you several ways to experience the finals: an arena seat, a designated on-site screen experience, or an advertised viewing party elsewhere in the city. Decide which experience you want before buying anything. Admission, seating and the ability to watch the live competition are separate details worth confirming.
For a reserved arena seat, begin with the organizer’s ticket links and check the performance date, section, row and delivery method. A ticket for one round is not admission to every night. When comparing offers, look at the complete checkout price and transfer terms, not just the first price shown in a search result.
NFR Access Only is a different product. The organizer says it admits you to designated experiences within the Thomas & Mack Center and lets you follow the rodeo on screens, but it does not provide an arena seat. Use the organizer’s NFR Live directory to begin looking for venues, then confirm the details with the property itself. Ask whether reservations are required, whether all ages are admitted, and whether the advertised event includes the live rodeo sound. A lively room and a quiet place to follow commentary are different experiences.
Check admission charges, food or drink requirements, opening time and seating arrangements for your chosen night. Do not assume that a hotel hosting rodeo entertainment shows every performance in every bar. If you are meeting friends, agree on the specific room or venue rather than only the hotel name; large properties can have several separate events.
The organizer provides the NFR Express shuttle information, including hotel routes and service details. Match your property to the current route and pickup point. A route serving a nearby hotel does not necessarily stop at yours. Check return arrangements too, particularly if you plan to stay for entertainment after the rodeo.
Allow time for traffic, walking and entry screening. Review the organizer’s Know Before You Go guidance for entrances and security requirements, and check the current bag policy before packing. Keep your ticket accessible on the correct device. For accessibility needs, ask the venue or organizer about the particular arrangements you require before the day of your visit.
Cowboy Christmas runs December 3–12, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with published hours of 9 a.m.–4 p.m. It is the organizer’s Western gift show, with shopping and daytime programming. Its admission arrangements are separate from the evening NFR; visiting the show does not include an arena ticket or a streaming subscription.
Build some breathing room into your day. Shopping, returning purchases to the hotel, eating and getting across town all take time. Junior NFR competition and other fan events have their own schedules and locations. Verify the specific session rather than assuming everything happens inside the Thomas & Mack Center. The main Las Vegas finals, youth competition, breakaway finals and steer roping finals should be treated as separate events when planning tickets, transport or viewing.
The Las Vegas NFR combines seven disciplines. Roughstock events use judged scores; timed events use the clock, with penalties affecting the result. The contrast is part of the appeal: a strong score can set the standard in one event, while a fraction of a second can separate contenders in another.

There are 120 event places across the seven disciplines because team roping has two roles; an athlete qualifying in more than one event means places and individual people are different counts.
A go-round result tells you who placed that night. The average brings performances across the finals together under the event’s scoring rules. World championship calculations include eligible season earnings. These are connected races, but the athlete winning a particular round is not automatically the average leader or world champion.
For 2026, the organizer announced that go-round payouts extend to eight places. The announced contestant prize-money total is $14,270,736, consisting of $13,070,736 in competition money and $1.2 million in guaranteed qualifier money. See the official payout announcement for the breakdown.

You do not need to know every contestant before opening night. Start with one or two disciplines that interest you and keep the roster nearby. Back numbers make it easier to recognize athletes as the broadcast moves between events. By the second or third evening, names and riding styles become familiar, and the competition begins to feel less like a list of separate results.
Before a performance, look at the previous round’s placings and the current average rather than only the season leader. During the broadcast, notice whether the commentary is discussing tonight’s placing, the average race or total earnings. That small distinction explains why an athlete can have a disappointing round and still remain part of a championship conversation.
If you only have time for part of an evening, check the broadcaster’s listing and use the replay afterward. Avoid planning around an exact minute for a particular rider or discipline unless the broadcast publishes one. Competition, reviews and presentation segments can affect the running order. Following the whole performance gives you more context than arriving only for a single name.
Watching with someone new to rodeo? Explain the basic difference between points and times first. You can leave the detailed rules until something relevant happens. A clean run, a penalty or an uncompleted ride offers a natural moment to explain the result without turning the evening into a lesson. The announcers’ explanations are also worth hearing, especially during close finishes.
Write down the total you are prepared to spend and compare complete offers. For streaming, that means the full subscription charge and billing period. For a television package, include any required add-on. For a viewing party, include admission and minimum spending. The lowest advertised starting price may not represent the arrangement you actually need for ten nights.
If your household already has access, decide who will handle sign-in and where the account information is stored securely. Check the service’s current simultaneous-stream rules before planning to watch on several screens. After subscribing, keep a record of the renewal date and manage the subscription through the platform that billed you. These are ordinary housekeeping steps, but they prevent confusion after the finals.
Save the schedule, roster and results links somewhere easy to reach. They answer different questions: when the next performance starts, who is competing and what happened in a completed round. When comparing a news story with a table, check that both refer to the same season. This matters on a site with historical reporting as well as current guides.
